Dr. Jane Jurma Stephen is a board-certified pediatrician who is passionate about providing evidence-based care while building lasting relationships with the families she serves. Parents appreciate her approachable, down-to-earth style and the time she takes to listen, answer questions, and help them feel confident in caring for their children. She believes pediatric visits should feel comfortable rather than intimidating, often getting down on a child's level and taking the time to build trust first.
She earned dual bachelor's degrees in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude with highest honors in 2014. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2018 before completing her pediatric residency at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Health in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
After residency, Dr. Jurma returned to North Georgia to care for children in the community she proudly calls home. She believes that the best pediatric care combines strong medical knowledge with genuine partnership, clear communication, and compassion.
In addition to English, Dr. Jurma is fluent in Romanian and conversational in Spanish, allowing her to connect with a diverse patient population.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys trying new restaurants, reading, watching documentaries, fostering dogs, and spending time with her husband, Brett, and their dog, Finn.
